Amichien Bonding is a natural way to communicate with your dog in a way that it understands it uses no gadgets or force and works with the nature of the dog to achieve the desired response. The result is a happy trusting relationship in which your dog will want to follow you.
The method has been developed by Jan Fennell who was first inspired by Monty Roberts ‘The Horse Whisperer’ who tamed horses by using their own communication. Jan’s method is the result of extensive study into the psychological needs of dogs, their communication, their origins and their place in the world today.
Why does Amichien Bonding work?
Domestic dogs are pack animals and are direct descendants of wolves, even today there is no know behaviour found in wolves that cannot also be found in domestic dogs. Amichien Bonding is based on pack behaviour and works with your dog’s natural instincts. Like wolves, dogs follow a strict code of hierarchy. They know from the time they are born that their very survival depends on having strong leaders. Many people unintentionally give their dogs mixed signals as to who is in charge, leaving the dog no choice but to assume the role of leader – regardless of whether it is capable of the job.
Why should I want my dog to elect me leader?
It is obvious to us that a dog cannot successfully be the leader of your household, but if your dog believes that he needs to take up this position the stress can result in what we consider to be bad behaviour; in extreme circumstance this can cause anxiety and obsessive behaviour.
